Daily Schedules vary a bit from room to room, but generally, a day proceeds as follows:
||Arrival, Greetings, Informal conversation.
||Discovery time: Free choice among a variety of activities in the learning centers: literacy, reading, writing/listening, manipulatives, dramatic, cooking, science, sand/water, music, etc.
||Clean up and Snack.
||Circle time with music, stories and games to introduce the theme and its concepts.
||Project time: opportunities for children to choose between 2 or 3 projects to further explore the theme and sharpen specific skills. Children who finish early have a chance to pull out our “magic carpet activities” which provide them a chance to choose a transition game they can play on their own.
||Active play (indoors or outdoors) Use of equipment & games.
||Washing hands, Lunch and Conversation.
||Work/Play area. Small group project time with table activities and at learning centers
||Quiet time and Rest; lying down and stretching out. Listening to soft music, looking through books.
||Music/Movement/Creative Dramatics and/or Story time. Movement to music, dance, rhythm band, bean bag and parachute activities.
||Discussion of the day’s activities and planning for the next day. Preparation for dismissal and greeting parents.
